Number 4 Passey Place has been at the heart of Eltham life for generations. It’s first manifestation as a Royal Mail sorting office helping Elthamites and those in the surrounding area to go about their daily lives, which is why we thought it was the perfect place to serve our own special delivery; fine food, worldly wines and beautiful bitters.
We pride ourselves on our selection of local ales, as well an extensive repertoire of spirits to match our ‘best of British’ menu – craft beer-battered hake with rustic chips, pan-fried duck breast with celeriac puree, summer fruit crumble with a scoop of artisan ice cream – we put the finest touches to those traditional dishes that remind you of home. Come down on Sunday for a hearty roast dinner and be part of the ever-growing GPO family.
Our summer cook-ups in the garden have attracted people from far and wide. Maybe it’s the smell of the barbecue, maybe it’s the comfortable sofas, maybe its Chef’s jokes. (Our money is on the sofas).
Furthermore, our bi-monthly Sunday evening music sessions and open-mic nights sees the best Eltham has to offer singing their hearts out for the jovial applause of the GPO crowd. Check out our Facebook and Twitter pages for upcoming music, charity and specialist events, so you know the right day to pack your maracas and head down!
The low-lighting, shabby-chic décor and friendly staff all add to the homely ambience on-hand every night of the week. You can book a nook or reserve a cranny for parties big and small, so don’t hesitate to get in touch. It really the perfect place for a warm night in.
